How It Works
Everything you need to know about earning XP, levelling up, and unlocking badges.
Marking Outcomes
Your teacher assigns outcomes — things you need to learn. For each one, you or your teacher marks how confident you feel:
You fully understand this. You could explain it to someone else.
You mostly get it but could use a bit more practice.
You're struggling with this. Ask your teacher for support.
Your status can be updated at any time as you improve — XP adjusts automatically.
XP & Levels
What is XP?
XP stands for Experience Points — a score that measures how much work you've put into learning. Every time an outcome is marked (by you or your teacher), you earn XP based on how confident you are. The more outcomes you complete and the more confident you become, the more XP you accumulate. XP never goes down permanently — if your status improves, your XP goes up.
Your total XP determines your level. Higher confidence = more XP per outcome.
| Level | XP Required | Outcomes to get there |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 | 0 XP | — |
| Level 2 | 20 XP | ~2 confident |
| Level 3 | 80 XP | ~8 confident |
| Level 4 | 180 XP | ~18 confident |
| Level 5 | 320 XP | ~32 confident |
| Level 10 👑 | 1,620 XP | ~162 confident |
Higher levels require more XP — keep marking outcomes to keep climbing!
Daily Streaks
Any day you or your teacher marks at least one outcome, your streak grows by 1 day. Miss a day and it resets to zero.
Badges
Badges are awarded automatically when you hit a milestone. There are 10 badges to collect.
Leaderboard
The leaderboard ranks everyone in your class by total XP. It updates in real time as outcomes are marked. The top 3 earn a special podium spot.
Only students in the same class can see each other on the leaderboard.
